The Role of Volunteers
at Aspen Center
Volunteers are an essential part of the OUR Center and Aspen Center programs. Their involvement allows us to provide a higher quality of service, offer additional assistance, welcome new sources of expertise, and strengthen the organization’s reputation within the community.
There are volunteers at Aspen Center for Child Development who work directly with children in the classroom, while others support the school in equally important ways behind the scenes.
Whether assisting in daily classroom life or contributing operational support, volunteers help strengthen the experiences of children, families, and educators across our community.
Through their time, experience, and support, volunteers help enrich the daily life of our school and contribute meaningfully to the experiences of children, families, and educators.
Thoughtful Placement, Safety & Partnership
The OUR Center Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting volunteers. Aspen Center administrators oversee scheduling, placement, training, supervision, and background screenings for volunteers serving within our school community.
All volunteers must follow the same guidelines, procedures, and health precautions as staff members when working with children at Aspen Center.
We proudly partner with the Early Childhood Service Corps as a placement site for older adult volunteers interested in early childhood education. This rich intergenerational partnership offers meaningful opportunities for connection, shared learning, and community engagement throughout our school.
